In a remarkable display of innovation and robust engineering, Dronelab SIA has successfully converted a military-grade container into a luxurious and incredibly durable swimming pool. This project showcases how industrial strength can be seamlessly blended with bespoke design to create something truly extraordinary.
The foundation of this unique pool is a military container, already known for its inherent resilience. However, to prepare it to hold approximately 25 tonnes of water, Dronelab SIA undertook a significant reinforcement process. An additional four tons of high-quality metal were expertly integrated into the structure. This substantial upgrade, which includes features like stairs, ensures the pool can withstand the immense hydrostatic pressure, giving it a structural integrity comparable to that of a light battle tank.
The transformation involved meticulous metalwork, with heavy-duty reinforcements being welded to bolster the container’s frame. Skilled welders were crucial to this phase, ensuring every joint and support beam contributed to the overall strength.
One of the most striking features of this container pool is its large 2-meter by 1.3-meter underwater window. Integrating such a significant transparent feature into a structure designed to hold immense pressure was an engineering feat in itself, offering a unique visual connection between the pool’s interior and its surroundings.
Following the structural work, the interior was carefully prepared, insulated, and finished with a vibrant, waterproof coating.
